ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION’S EXECUTIVE

The monthly meeting of the executive of the St. John Ambulance Association was held at headquarters on Monday, Mr E. Griffin occupying the chair. The convener of the Transport Committee reported that during February the ambulances had attended 327 calls and had travelled a total distance of 3380 miles. Twenty-six accident calls had been attended.

It was reported that arrangements were being made to fit all ambulances with sirens owing to the necessity of obtaining a greater traffic clearance when proceeding to urgent cases. The convener reported that the new ambulance presented by the Otago Rugby Football Union had been named the " Cariisbrook ” Ambulance. A ceremony for the dedication of this ambulance would be held at St. John headquarters on Sunday, March 20. The Rev. W. A. Stevely would officiate.
