GERMAN COMMUNIST LEADER’S ASSERTION
REPERCUSSIONS IN PARTY N ZPA—Copyright
BERLIN, Mar. 7. The declaration by Otto Grotewohl, head of the Socialist Unity (Communist) Party, that the Germans should support the Russian Army in the event of a march into Western Germany has caused trouble in the Communist Party in the Western zones, says the British United Press correspondent in Hamburg. Hans Hubert, a member of the party Executive Committee, resigned as a result of Grotewohl’s statement. Hubert said that Grotewohl’s demand made it necessary for every member of the German Communist Party to re-examine his attitude towards the party.
