The Jewidh delegates have approved the draft l of the IsraeliEgyptian armistice, which has been flown to Tel-Aviv, but the Egyptians have withheld approval of a disrupted clause of the future status of Beersheba, the Jewish-held capital of the Negeb say informed conference circles at Rhodes. It is expected that haggling over Beersheba may go on for a day or two and may delay the signing of the armistice until the middle of next week. The main points of the draft are believed to be these: The present front lines, with a few exceptions, would be “ frozen.” Almost the whole Gaza coastline would remain in Egyptian hands. The Israelis would keep their forces in the Eastern Negeb facing Transjordan until a settlement with King Abdullah. The Faluja garrison would be evacuated and the city taken over by the Israelis.
