RUSSIAN ZONE JUDGES
POLITICAL QUALIFICATIONS Rec. 7.15 p.m. BERLIN, Feb. 19. The Russian commandant, Majorgeneral Kotikov, has issued an order that Berlin’s judges are to be drawn in future “from the ranks of those devoted to democracy.” The order said that to build up a democratic legal system, persons without full legal training might be nominated for judges and public prosecutors “ provided their knowledge and moral and political qualifications would enable them to carry out their legal functions in the people’s interests.”
Athens, Feb. 18 (Rec. 7.5 p.m.):—A mutilated body found in a ravine on the outskirts of Karpenisi has been identified as that of Lieutenant-colonel Selden R. Edner, an American Air Force officer who was a passenger in the Greek plane which made a forced landing in Karpenisi on January 21.
