ADAPTABLE FASHIONS
Adaptable fashions for town and country are a boon to the business woman who works in town, but likes to get into the country for week-ends with a minimum of luggage, says a London exr change. Paris milliners are designing some of their autumn hats with easy packing in mind. Berets and cloche hats in soft velours or stitched velvet are made to fold flat in a suitcase, eliminating the hatbox one has usually to carry. A fashion revival that also eases packing problems is the slim evening skirt which, with the choice of two formal and informal evening blouses, equips one for any week-end entertaining from cocktail party to smart country club dance. The best space-savers noticed recently have been small plastic envelopes each containing an entire shower-proof cape, an excellent idea when the weather is unpredictable.
