MATCH WITH OTAGO
ENGLISH WOMEN'S CRICKET TEAM GUARANTEE NECESSARY The New Zealand Women’s Cricket Council has advised the local Women's Cricket Association that Otago has been included in the itinerary of‘the touring English women’s team. The tourists will arrive in Dunedin on March 10 and play Otago on March 12 and 14. The game will take place, however, only if Otago can find the necessary £ 100 before February 28. Twentypound has been forwarded to Wellington, this being the result of special efforts made by the association before Christmas. Further efforts to raise the money are being made by the association, in addition to the appeal made through the Daily Times. The first eleven to meet the English women will be selected from the following players: —E. Blackie, T. Sew Hoy, P. Holley, B. Morris, K. Laverty, M. Whiston. Mary Scott, V. Meek, E Hogg, R. Kerr, C. Mcßean. E. Paton, E. Brownlie, E. Butler, A. McLeod, B. Scoles, Margaret Scott, A. McKay and C. Garland. The second eleven, which recently won the Mary Machin Shield from Canterbury, has received a challenge from the West Coast and this, game will be played at Dunedin on February 12 and 14. The Otago second eleven to meet the West Coast is: E. Paton, E. Brownlie, C. Garland, F. Dickinson, B. Scoles, E. Butler, M. Connolly, A. McLeod, Margaret Scott, A. McKay, D. Meek, A. Tyler.
