PROPOSITION TO COUNCIL
PA BLENHEIM, Feb. 2. Widespread disappointment in Marlborough at the non-inclusion of A. E. Cresswell in the New Zealand team to tour England took a practical form when it was announced to-day that money was available locally to guarantee Cresswell’s expenses for the tour, if the New Zealand Cricket Council could be interested in the proposition to take him as an extra man, -and refund the money if the tour proved a financial success.
