CHRISTCHURCH GAS SHOWS REDUCED PROFIT

Daily Times Special Service CHRISTCHURCH. Feb. 2. The accounts of the Chsfstchurch Gas, Coal and Coke Company, Ltd., for the year ended December 31, show a reduction in net profit of £2113 and an increase in sales of £20,820. After making full provision for taxation and ordinary and special depreciation, the profit is £17,495 £19,608 in 1947 and £20,608 in 1946 which, together with £7054 brought forward from 1 the previous year, shows a total to the credit of the profit and loss account of £24,530. Dividends totalling 5 per cent, for the year (unchanged) absorb £18,036, leaving a balance of £6494 to be carried forward.
