PLUNKET SHIELD TEAM
MATCH AGAINST WELLINGTON
I. Walsh, the North-East Valley medium-paced bowler, has been included in the Otago Plunket Shield team which will begin the match against Wellington at Carisbrook on Friday. The team is:—L. D. Smith (AlbionYMCA, captain), L. J. Groves (Old Boys), R. T. Hunt (University), I. Walsh (North-East Valley), N. McGregor (Grange), L. A. Milnes (Carisbrook), G. H. Mills (Old Boys), G. W. F. Overton (Southland), R. H. Robinson (Albion-YMCA), D. St. John (Old Boys), L. A. Watt (Kaikorai). T. C. Fraser (Carisbrook) is twelfth man. Commenting on the team, the sole selector, Mr S. Duncan, said that I. Freeman and A. W. Roberts were not available. Walsh was a player who had been showing improved form and Mr Duncan thought he would do well. Milnes, who was twelfth man at Canterbury and Auckland, should also do well, he added. Practice will be held to-day and to-morrow.
