GREYMOIfTH CUP RESULT PA GREYMOUTH, Jan. 2. The Greymouth Jockey Club held its opening day in perfect weather. The attendance was large and the track fast. The totalisator handled £17,558 10s against £18,652 10s last year. After the running of the Greymouth Cup a protest was lodged by the trainer of the second horse Sorry against the first place being awarded to Night Owl on the grounds of alleged crossing. The Judicial Committee reversed the placings, but found the incident was not deliberate, and W. D. Skelton, the rider of Night Owl, was not suspended. Results:— Novice Stakes, of £125.
