MR ANTHONY EDEN TO VISIT DOMINION AT END OF JANUARY

NZPA—Copyright LONDON, Dec. 17.. The Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Mr Anthony Eden, will fly to New Zealand for a short visit as the guest of the New Zealand Government towards the end of January. He then plans to visit Australia. The New Zealand and-Australian trips will follow .a visit to' Canada.. .1 “I am looking forward very much to : .lvisiting-. New . I have no particular purpose in

going, to New Zealand, except that I want to learn all about what is happening at the moment. One thing I do not want to do is make speeches, but I do want to see as much of the country districts as possible. I am a very keen horticulturist, and k am sure I can find a lot to learn in New Zealand.”

Mr Eden has family connections with New Zealand, since an ancestor. Lork Auckland, assisted Captain Hobson materially. He says he is amused when New Zealanders avoid discussing Mount Eden Gaol in conversation with him. “I know all about Mount Eden,” he says, with a laugh. Mr Eden has discussed his visit with Mr Fraser.
