SCHOOL DUXES
Duxes of Otago primary schools are:— St. Dominic’s.—M. Leonard. Omakau.—Kathleen M. BelL St. Bernadette's.—Pauline Horan. Columba College.—Jane Parrish. The world’s oldest fresh-water eel, born in 1861 and kept In a tank in the museum at Helsingborg. in South Sweden, since 1863, died recently. Known to visitors as Puttie, this veteran among eels was only 18 Inches long, with unusually large eyes. Puttie was very sociable, and it is said that he cavorted delightedly, like a playful kitten, when stroked on the neck.
