NEW SHAW SAVILL VESSEL CERAMIC IN DOMINION PA AUCKLAND, Dec. 17. Described by her commander, Captain A. V. Richardson, as “ one of the finest ships of the type ever on this run,” the Shaw Savill and Albion liner Ceramic arrived early this morning on her maiden voyage from Liverpool Captain Richardson said the ship came through an Atlantic storm with flying colours. Her new impulse turbines kept her exceptionally steady, and there was remarkably little vibration. Captain Richardson expects that she will eventually exceed 20 knots. The Ceramic brought about 80 passengers and general cargo, including new English cars. She will unload at Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, and will load refrigerated cargo at New Plymouth. and Wellington for the return trip through Panama.
