REPAIRS STARTED ON RAIL CROSSING
Work on the Severn street railway crossing, which has been causing motorists and cyclists concern for some time past, was commenced yesterday morning by a RallwaysJDepartment repair gang. The crossing, which Is in a particularly bad spot at the foot of the Severn street hill, gives users of the road a severe jolt every time it is crossed. It is gratifying to see that this work has been commenced before the busy period, and when completed, will improve this section of the main highway leading to and from Oamaru.
