OLIVIERS IN BRITAIN
PRAISE FOR NEW ZEALAND AUDIENCES
LONDON, Nov. 17. -New Zealand audiences were described by Sir Laurence Olivier as “ even more enthusiastic than those in Australia,” on his return to London in the Corinthic with Lady Olivier. Sir Laurence, who went on board the Corinthic at Wellington in a ship’s sling after a cartilege operation on his knee, still walks with a stick, but is making a good recovery. He declared that both he and his wife enjoyed every moment of their time in New Zealand, adding: “ More and more of us ought to go to play to Australians and New Zealanders.” He begins a new season at the New Theatre with “ School for Scandal ” in a few weeks’ time, and after a fourmonth season intends to take a holiday. “We need it,” said Lady Olivier.
