Bowlers Dominate Opening Of Cricket Competition
The Otago Cricket Association’s senior competition was commenced •h Saturday in brilliant sunshine and a downpour towards the end of the day caused only a slight interruption to the play. Mills, who got 79 for High School Old Boys against University B. Walsh amassed 56 in 33 minutes for North-East Valley against Grange and J. D. O’Sullivan scored 53 for Dunedin against Albion-Y.M.C.A.. The most impressive bowling performance of the day was registered by E. Kruskopf, who has returned to the Dunedin Club from League cricket. Carter (Carisbrook) five for 43, and R. H. Robinson (Albion-Y.M.C,A.) three for 25. Other bowlers to obtain good figures were T. A. Freeman >(Grange) four for 31, J. Valentine (Carisbrook) three for 29, and F. Stanley (Kaikorai) five for 57.
