“BRITISH”
Sir,—May I point out for the benefit of those who are so patriotically interested in the word " British ” being retained in the title of our Commonwealth that its retention or rejection cannot be and will not be determined by people passing resolutions for or against, but it can and will be determined by the quality of British political, economic, civil and military justice. However. although individual materialism and its natural offspring, mass materialism, are putting in a few road blocks. I am optimistic enough to hope that a better implementation of the words engraved on the quarterdecks of all British battleships. rather than their guns, shall enable us to achieve our greater destiny, that of teachers and leaders in a World Commonwealth of Nations.—l am, etc., A. Caldwell.
