Additional confirmation of northern reports that an “iron curtain” has been rung down in front of press reporters and photographers assigned tc the air tragedy was given to the Dailj Times last night by a representative of the Wellington photographers whc supplied this newspaper with the pictures appearing on this age. She was in the plane chartered by the Dail? Times to bring the photographs south “Press reporters and photographers are incensed over their treatment b: the authorities,” she stated. “A re porter at one camp was threatene< with arrest, and at the other our owi photographer had a similar experi ence. Our men were, not allowec past the first hut, and were prohibitec from going to the scene of the wreck One was practically placed under arrest at one stage. “ Our photographs of the wrecked plane actually came from a roll of film we purchased from an amateur photographer in one of the search parties,’ she added. “ Fortunately, the fito was a success, as otherwise the people of New Zealand would not have seet the photographs they were anxious and entitled to see.”
