STUDY OF RHEUMATISM
INCREASED : ATTENTION FORMATION OF SPECIAL COUNCIL Special Correspondent WELLINGTON, Oct. 31. ’ The study of rheumatism in New Zealand and its' treatment is to be given closer attention with the establishment at Rotorua next month of a New Zealand branch of the Empire Rheumatism Council, under the auspices of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association. ‘ Preliminary meetings have been held by the B.M.A. in most centres, and the conference for formal establishment of the new organisation will be ; held in Rotorua on November 18 and 19. ■ Dr G. A. Q. Lannane, who recently arrived in New Zealand to become ■ adviser in physical medicine to fne Department of Health, will specialise Tn facilities for the treatment of rheumatism. He will have his headquarters ..at Rotorua. At the direction of the New Zealand Government, Dr Lennane made a tour of the main centres of the United. Kingdom, the United States, Scandinavia and Italy before his; departure from Europe, to study facilities for treatment of rheumatism and other 'disorders of the lomomotor system.
