ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE The R.N.Z.N.V.R. is an integral part of the Royal New Zealand Navy. It is composed of young men— civilians, who have a liking for the sea but whose vocations prevent them from joining the Navy, as a full time career. During World War 2 over 1,000 members of the pre-war R.N.Z.N.V.R. served with distinction afloat and ashore, gaining many decorations and in a large number of cases having command of H.M. Ships. Applications are now invited from young men aged 18-25 to join this branch of the Senior Service.
