Practice Shoot The Oarnaru Defence Rifle Club fired a practice match at 500 and 600 yards at the Federal range on Saturday. A changing light and troublesome wind made conditions interesting. Allan 41—38—79, W. Halkett 36—40—76, C. McGaughey 38—35—-73, N. Jones 29—42—71, T. Church 39—32—71, I. Swinard 38—29—67, J. Leslie 31—35—66, A. Hall 32—34—66, W. Youngman 38—28—66, E. Morton 40—25—65. E. Cayford 35—27—62, J. Tempero 32 —28 —60, R. Hay 23 —34—56. N. Hicks 21—30—51, I. Andrew 27—20—47. J. Marks 7—21—28. A handicap sweepstake was fired in conjunction with the practices and was won by Rifleman W. Smith, with Rifleman R. L. McLatchie second and Rifleman J. Gibson third.
