E. SMITHER OUTSTANDING Although handicapped one lap, E. 1 Smither won the 10-mile event in outstanding style at the Otago Motor Cycle Club’s meeting at the Taieri on Saturday. A large crowd watched a thrilling programme of races which ranged from short circular grass track events to the 10-mi’e race. Results:— Mini :ture T.T.—Race 1 (two laps, 350 c.c.): S. Mills 1, K. Vinnicombe 2. Race 2 (two laps, 500 c.c.): E. Smither 1. W. Vinnicombe 2. Race 3 (mixed): N. Hogg 1, L. Begg 2. Race 4 (handicap, 500 c.c.): E. Smither 1, S. Mills 2. Race 5 (spectators): Taylor 1, Lawless 2. Race 6 (10 laps, senior handicap): E. Smither 1, R. Johnston *2. K. Vinnicombe 3. Quarter-mile Grass.—Race 1: B. Marsden 1, A. Quin 2, N. Pierson 3.
