Fine Post Office Achievement
A remarkably fine achievement was put up to-day by the Post Office in making arrangements for the despatch of press messages from Ohakune, which has a normal equipment of one hand-operated Morse key. To get away the first messages this afternoon, a second Morse set had been installed by 1.30 p.m., and an hour later a
Creed teleprinter and an operator were despatched from Wellington. The teleprinter reached Ohakune at 8.20, and was installed and in operation by 8.45. The work was under the control of the chief postmaster at Wanganui, Mr R, L. Horn, who brought with him mechanics and a relief operator.
