Backers Are Faced With Difficult Task

With so much recent form, backers will be faced with a difficult task on the opening day of the Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting at Addington to-day. The New Zealand Trotting Cup has attracted 14 of the most select of the Dominion's pacers, and, though Highland Fling may be tne first choice of backers, he is facing the most difficult task of his brilliant career, and an upset is possible. The minor events have all attracted exceptionally well-performed fields.
