Farmers’ Views Requested

At yesterdav’s meeting of the North Otago Council of Federated Farmers a circular was received from the Dominion Council asking for the views of the executive as to suggestions that Federated Farmers should join forces with the business interests in the etablishment of an advisory board to the Government in connection with import licensing and trade tariffs. The circular pointed out that efforts would be made to persuade the Government to delegate certain powers in these matters to the proposed board. Speakers pointed out that the contemplated move had two objectives, one of which, that of tariffs, might conflict with the policy of Federated Farmers. The other was one on which the organisation could whole-heartedly co-operate. The question was referred to a committee for a report and a reply to the Dominion Council
