Australian Jamboree
Scouts D. Gawn (Columba) and P. Dolan (St. Patrick’s) have been selected to represent til? North Otago district at the Pau-Facific Scout Jamboree to be held in Australia early next year. The District Executive meeting was well attended by Scouters, but group delegates were poorly represented. The next Scooters' meeting will be held at the Guide headquarters on Wednesday ingThe R.S.A. Ambulance Banner competition will be held at the Gardens on November 20, at 1.30 p.m. Each troop is asked to enter a team of six and one patient over eight stone. The conditions governing the competition can be obtained from Scouter L. Smith.
The next first-class tests will be held in the Gardens on November 27, at 9.30 a.m. Troops are in training for the field day and rally at Takaro Park on December 4.
A number of applications for part 2 of the GiUvell badge course have been received this week. Scouters may obtain particulars from Commissioner W. H. S. Widdowson.
Arrangements for the royal visit and the visit of th? Empire Chief Scout were discussed at the meeting of the District Executive, and it was decided to complete these at the executive's next meeting on January 12. Tiie majority of the troops held successful camps over the Labour week-end. Some useful training was accomplished, and the camping standard was good.
