LIQUOR NEAR DANCES

OFFENDERS CONVICTED

As a sequel to recent supervision by the police, several offenders charged with having liquor in their possession near dance halls appeared before Mr A. E. Dobbie, S.M., in the Mosgiel Police Court yesterday. Ray McDonald, Leslie Gordon White, Brian Southey, Ray Lloyd and Keith Lake were each fined £5 and costs (10s), while Rav Hinton was fined £1 and costs (10s). Mr Dobbie dealt with the following traffic cases:—For inability to produce warrants of fitness, Stewart Cook was fined £l, with costs (10s), James Anderson was fined 15s with costs (10s), and Annie Noreen Stevenson was fined 10s with costs (10s); for failure to keep to the left, Charles Gordon Lucas was fined £1 10s and costs (10s); for parking in prohibited areas, Edward Thomas Crighton and Joseph Moore Beatty were each fined 10s and costs (10s); for riding unlighted cycles, Rohm Eldred Page, Ray McDonald and William Henry Ashby were each fined 15s and costs (10s).
