NASSELLA TUSSOCK CONTROL

P.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 28. The Nassella Tussock Amendment Bill was read a second time in the House of Representatives to-day. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr Cullen, said that in badly infested areas taken over by the Crown all expenditure would be borne by the State, but in other area controlled by the Nassella Tussock Board the costs would come within the board’s budget. Individual farmers would have to contribute toward "eradicating nassella, but he hoped the State would in future bear the greater part of the burden.
