CROMWELL BURGLARY
MAN ARRESTED IN CITY APPEARANCE IN COURT ; TO-DAY r; After widespread investigations extending over two months, the police have arrested a man who will appear jn the City Police Court this morning charged with stealing the sum of £255 '/from Mr L. A. Jelley’s grocery shop in Cromwell on August 22. The arrest was made in Dunedin by Detectivesergeant M. Browji and Detectivesergeant A. J. Marshall. Sometime during the week-end of August 22-23, explosives were used to , force open the office safe of Mr Jelley's shop after an entry had been made into the building through the rear office window. Of the money stolen. £B4 belonged to the Vincent Rugby Sub-union.' As a member of that body, Mr Jelley had offered to place in his safe the money collected at a . tournament and dance held in Cromwell on Saturday, August 21.'
