SOUTHDOWN SHEEP
VISIT FROM ENGLISH FLOCKMASTER P.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 28. The owner of the famous Tord flock of Southdown sheep in Sussex, England, Mr Walter Langmead. accompanied by his wife, arrived to-day by the Timaru Star to visit farms in New Zealand to which his breed has been sent from England. Mr Langmead said his flock was the oldest established on the Southdown Sheep Society’s book, and that his father had sent the first ram from the flock to New Zealand in 1910. ■ , . , One ram in particular which Mr Langmead wishes to see again is the former supreme champion at the English Royal Show sold some time ago to Mr George Mumford, of Shannon. Mr Langmead will be staying with the family of Professor E. Hudson at Lincoln. He also proposes to visit Massey Agricultural College.
