Oamaru Club
The Oamaru Miniature Rifle Club held Its closing night recently when novelty shoots were fired. Results were:—No. 1 shoot, A. Booth 1, R. Allen 2; No. 2 shoot, H. Wootton 1 and J. May (equal) 1; No. 3 shoot A Hopley and G. Batchelor (equal) 1. The annual social and presentation of trophies was held recently and the president, Mr A. Hunter, presented the trophies to the various winners:— Club championship and Gemmell Cup, D. Moffitt; Robertson Memorial Shield, A. Hopley: Doran Shield, R. Domigan; W. May Shield (junior champion), D. Moffitt; patron’s trophy (second in senior championship). J. Caldwell: A. Hunter’s trophy, D. Moffitt; W. Youngman’s trophy, A. Newson; W. May's trophy, N. McLeod; A. Hopley's trophy, I. Forbes: I. Bain's trophy, B. Forbes; J. May’s trophy, K. Corcoran; J. Bovlen’s trophy, A. Hopley; R. Wilson’s trophy, D. Blair; A. Newson’s trophy, N. Docherty. The president congratulated the winners on their fine performances during the season, and on behalf of the club thanked all the donors of trophies and those who had helped to make the past season so successful.
