PUBLIC NOTICES Dunedin city - waikouaiti county. PROPOSED ALTERATION OF BOUNDARIES. The Local Government Commission, acting under Powers conferred on it by " Local Government Commission Act, 1946," and Pursuant to provisions of that' Act, has promulgated a Provisional Scheme providing for exclusion of area described in Schedule hereto from City of Dunedin and inclusion thereof m County of Waikouaiti. Objections to Scheme must be lodged within One Morfh of Publication of this Notice with Secretary, Local Government Commission, Box 30, Govt. Buildings, Wellington. The date for this purpose will be deemed to be NOVEMBER 22. 1948. If within time specified no Objections are received, Commission will proceed to approve Scheme as a Final Scheme. Copies of Scheme may be viewed at Offices of Dunedin City Council, Dunedin. Waikouaiti County Council, Waikouaiti, and at Office of Local Govt. Commission, Govt. Buildings, Wellington. SCHEDULE. ALL THAT AREA in Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at north-eastern corner of Section 3, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence proceeding easterly along northern boundaries of Section 2, Block V aforesaid, Section 65, across a road, Sections 63, 66, 67, 68, 69. 70, 71 and 72, Block VIII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence southerly along eastern boundary of Section 72 aforesaid, to northernmost corner of Section 55"; thence south-westerly along north-west-ern boundary of Section 55, across a road to, and along, north-western boundary of Section 58, across a road to, and along, north-western boundary of Section 35, to westernmost corner of that Section; thence southerly generally along southwestern boundary of that Section and north-western and south-western boundaries of Section 8 to northernmost, corner of Section 7; thence south-westerly generally along north-western boundaries of Section 7, across a road, Sections 5. 6, 14, 17, 10, across a road, Sections 9. 50. 15, 13 and 12, all of which several lastmentioned Sections are in Block VIII aforesaid; thence south-easterly along south-western boundary of said Section 12 to easternmost corner of Section 1, Block VIII aforesaid; thence south-west-erly along south-eastern boundaries of Sections 1, 3 and 4, Block VIII aforesaid, to southernmost corner of said Section 4; thence north-westerly along southwestern boundary of that Section to its corner; thence westerly a right line across Leith Valley road and Leith River to northernmost corner of Section 81 (E.R.), Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thencfe south-westerly and south-easterly along north-western and south-western boundaries of said Section 81, and pro- ! duction of last-mentioned boundary to right bank of Leith River; thence southerly generally down that bank of river to a point due east of southernmost , corner of Section 73, Block V, aforesaid; thence due west to southernmost corner of said Section 73, Block V aforesaid; thence north-westerly along south-west-ern boundary of that Section, to a road; thence westerly along southern side of that road to north-western boundary of 1 Section 74, Block V aforesaid; thence south-westerly along that boundary and north-western boundary of Section 79, Block V aforesaid, to north-eastern boundary of Seciton 45, Block V aforesaid; thence north-westerly along that boundary to northernmost corner of said Section 45, and along north-eastern boundary of Section 53, Block V aforesaid, to southernmost corner of Section 54 of that Block; thence northerly along generally eastern boundaries of said Section 54, Section 55, Block V aforesaid, across a road. STATE TENANCIES NEARLY FIFTY THOUSAND WAITING P.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 21. During September 363 State houses were let or relet, 169 of these tenancies going to ex-servicemen, said the Minister in Charge of Housing, Mr Hackett, to-day. In the same month 1158 applications for State tenancies were lodged, comprising 308 by exservicemen and 850 from civilians. Applications on hand at August 30 totalled 48,566, of which 13,499 were from ex-servicemen. Since the Government’s present housing scheme began 26,763 new tenancies nad been let.
