TRAINING OF TEACHERS
FIFTH COLLEGE LIKELY MINISTER INSPECTS SITE P.A. PALMERSTON N, Oct. 18. “ It seems that we may have to have a fifth teachers’ training college completed together with hostels by 1953,” said the Minister of Education, Mr McCombs, to members of the Palmerston High Schools’ Board to-day when discussing plans for the erection of educational buildings. He is in the city for the purpose of inspecting suggested building sites and during the course of a tour of the city ana environs made a brief inspection of the suggested site for a fifth training college at Fitzherbert and part of the Massey Agricultural College property. While not committing the -Government to any undertaking regarding the land, the Minister said that Massey Agricultural College had offered a site which was considered by his department to be very suitable for the purpose.
