FLYING BOAT CHARTERED
SHEARERS FROM AUSTRALIA P.A. INVERCARGILL, Oct. 13. Through the enterprise of an Invercargill shearing contractor. Mr A. W. Garvie, a party of Australian shearers will leave Sydney next Thursday by a specially-chartered Sunderland Hying boat for Auckland. They will be under contract to Mr Garvie to shear 171,000 sheep at stations in Canterbury, North Otago, and Northern Southland. Passages by steamer being unavailable, lengthy negotiations to secure a plane were eventually successful.
