DUKE OF EDINBURGH RETURNS THANKS FOR NAVY’S WEDDING Gin
P.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 18. The Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, said to-day that the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, Mr W. J. Jordan, had forwarded to him a letter from the Duke of Edinburgh thanking the Royal New Zealand Navy for the dinghy presented to Princess Elizabeth and the Duke as a wedding gift. _ ... .. “I was most impressed with its construction and finish,” the letter stated, “and I can assure you it will be extremely useful to us. We have called the dmghy Kiwi, and hope this will meet with the approval of all who so kindly provided this splendid gift.”
