Mrs Chapman, who represented the Otago Croquet Association, ran the first hoop and declared the season open. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH At the annual meeting of the East Taieri Presbyterian Church the Rev. W. H. D. Warin was in the chair. The session report revealed steady progress in the work of the church. The Deacons' Court report indicated that the two memorial windows for the deceased servicemen of the congregation and the late Professor J. Collie would be installed in the near future. Reference was made to the excellent work done for many years as treasurer by Mr W. J. Morton, who had resigned. His place had been taken by Mr J. H. Allan. Youth work in the Sunday School, Bible Class and clubs had been well maintained. There were now 52 in the Bible Class and 82 in the Sunday School. One of the most flourishing activities of the church had been the choir, whose numbers and enthusiasm had greatly enlivened the musical side of the services. During the evening an interesting address was given by Professor G. A. F. Knight on Budapest. Items were given by the choir and a series of coloured photographs were displayed by Mr J. Kirk.
