SCOTT.—On October 19. 1947, at the Lawrence Hospital, the death of Mary Scott (nee Girlie Rakiraki), of Evans Flat, wife of John W, Scott, now of Methven, dearly loved mother of John Gregory, Leslie Bruce, Clifford Wayne, and wed Thomas Frederick: burled near Reomoapa, Kaka Point. “ Sadly missed.”' Girlie,' we have missed you from the old home. No one can tell how painful our sorrow has been. , With aching hearts we saw you go. Calling to us as you went away. If we only knew what it all meant All might have been well to-day. We could not tell, we could not see Death stood between us. Like a precious flower that we had tended carefully Plucked from our midst without warning. Feeling all our hopes had perished With the flower we had cherished and loved so well They brought you home. They brought you many beautiful flowers. In life you were fond of flowers, And with aching hearts left you at rest in God’s arre. The murmuring breezes playing around, The sobbing of the little waves down ■ amongst the rocks. Like echoes coming from that far-off land beyond the sunset. Some day we will come to you and be with you For ever more. Till then watt for us in God’s keeping. -Stella.
