IN THE MATTER of "The Electric Power Boards Act 1925,'’ " The Local Bodies Loans Act 1926," “ The Local Government Loans Board Act 1926,” and section 15 of "The Finance Act (No. 2) 1936.’’ NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the OTAGO ELECTRIC POWER BOARD proposes at its MEETING to be held at MILTON on TUESDAY the 19th day of OCTOBER 1948 to confirm a resolution passed by the said Board on the 21st day of September 1948 to raise a LOAN 0f'£25,000 at a rate of interest not exceeding per cent, per annum for the _ c 4 a ■ - _ i/t~i n Viln-vnlt purcose of erecting a Main 33 Kilo-volt Transmission Line from Palmerston to Deepdell to augment the supply of electrical energy to the MANIOTOTO-STRATH-TAIERI AREA of the inner area of the OTAGO ELECTRIC POWER DISTRICT (which includes portions, of the Counties of Bruce, Clutha, Tuapexa, Maniototo, Taieri, Waihemo, and Waikouaiti together with the Boroughs of Nasebv, Balclutha, Lawrence, Kaitangata, Waikouaiti, and Palmerston) and the costs of raising the proposed said loan of £25,000. THE PROPOSED LOAN will be secured by a SPECIAL RATE of one-fifteenth of a penny (l-15d) in the pound on tire capital rateable value of all rateable property within the inner area of the OTAGO ELECTRIC POWER DISTRICT as aforesaid. It is proposed that the whole of the said Loan with interest thereon shall be repaid within a period not exceeding TWENTY-FIVE (25) YEARS from the date of raising. the same by the halfyearly or yearlv redemption of DEBENTURES. ANY PERSON having any OBJECTION to the proposed application is called upon to submit the same in writing to the OTAGO ELECTRIC POWER BOARD, P.O. BOX 3, MILTON, not later than the day preceding the said MEETING. A POLL OF RATEPAYERS is required .to be taken if FIVE (5) PER CENTUM of the ratepayers whose names are inscribed on the RATEPAYERS' ROLL of the RATING AREAS concerned so demand by writing under their hands delivered or sent by post to the Otago Electric Power Board at the above address.
