MR YOSHIDA TO FORM JAPANESE CABINET TOKIO, Oct. 14. Mr Shigeru Yoshida, 70-year-old president of the Democratic Liberal Party, was to-night elected Prime Minister of Japan. I-Ie will succeed Mr Hitoshi Ashida, Democratic leader, whose middle of the road Coalition Government collapsed when a leading Cabinet member became involved in the Showa Denko Government loan scandal. Mr Yoshida is expected to endeavour to form a Cabinet from his Right Wing Democratic Liberals, together

with some supporters from the Democratic Party. Mr Yoshida, however, has already indicated his intention to dissolve the Diet and hold a General Election.
