LABOUR WEEK-END
MANY TO TRAVEL
EXTRA TRAINS AND BUSES BOOKINGS ARE HEAVY As in past years, the public will again be travelling in large numbers on the Labour Day week-end. Extra trains and buses are being provided by the Railways Department, and the support accorded these since bookings opened indicates that traffic will be equally as heavy as it was last year. All trains and buses are already well booked, and only a few seats remain available. ...
On Friday, October 22, an additional express will leave Dunedin at 5.45 p.m. for Invercargill. This train, and the usual Invercargill-Christchurch express, which leaves Dunedin at 11.20 p.m., are both fully booked. The usual express leaving Dunedin at 8.45 a.m., for Christchurch is heavily booked. Although the express leaving Dunedin at 8.30 a.m. for Invercargill is also heavily booked, there are still a few seats available.
