Auckland Watersiders To Work on Labour Day

P.A

AUCKLAND. Oct. 15

The Auckland waterside workers will work on Labour Day to enable the liner Aorangi to keep her northbound time table. It is some years since work was undertaken in the port on Labour Day, but it is understood the union endorsed the proposal at its stop-work meeting on Thursday. The Aorangi, which is expected from Sydney early on the morning of Labour Day, will have some Australian cargo and mail to discharge before loading wool, some refrigerated cargo, mail, and passengers’ luggage. The liner will sail for Vancouver the following day.
