INDUSTRIES FAIR
Suggestion for Oamaru
A suggestion that a New Zealand Industries Fair could be conducted for three or four nights in the Oamaru Drill Hall was made yesterday by a member of the staff of G. T. Gillies, Ltd. Several New Zealand companies had advised that 'they would be willing to present bays if such an exhibition was arranged he said. The speaker said he had noticed that New Zealand people were prejudiced against purchasing New Zealand-made articles. This might possibly have been justified prior to the war, but with thp experience gained through the manufacture of modern machinery and war supplies the New Zealand factories were now able to distribute household appliances up to, if not better than, the standard of overseas goods.
