FROZEN PRODUCTS, LTD.
P.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 15. The accounts' of Frozen Products, Ltd., for the year ended June 30, 1948, show a net profit of £4031 against £2139 for the previous year. The profit is struck after providing £5510 (£3907 in 1947) for depreciation and £SBOO (£3873) for income and social security taxes. With £736 brought in, there is £4767 available. The dividend, raised from BJd to Is (5 per cent.), takes £3750, leaving a carry-for-ward of. £lOl7. The directors state that early in the year the capital was increased to £75,000 by the issue to shareholders of 15,000 £1 shares. The turnover was maintained in spite of epidemic restrictions. Costs of materials and services continue to show a rising tendency and producton and distribution are still hampered by petrol rationing, electricity cuts and sugar and butter-fat rationing.
Friedrich Koch admitted to a Vienna court that he had three wives, but he pleaded for clemency on the grounds that he had a " poor memory." The judge observed: “What a fortunate man; married to three women at once—and he can forget it! ” and gave Koch a one-year sentence to forget.
