ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Otago Justices of the Peace Association was held tn thfe Otago Women’s Pioneer Hall. There was a good attendance of members.

Stoop, clerk ol the Magistrate's Court, in an address on " The Duties oi Justices,” gave an instructive and interesting survey of the various legal papers which justices were required to witness, after which he answered a number of questions. The following officers were appointed
tor the current year:—President. Mr Kitchin; immediate past president. Mr R Walls, M.P., vice-presidents—Messrs T. L. Gillions, D. Maider, and A R. Rankin: council —Messrs A. J. Haub, H. S. Reid, C H. Kitchin, O. E. S. Wood, and W. C. R Bird; treasurer, Mr H E. Barth; registrar, Mr Stratton; auditors, Messrs J. A. Winefield and C. H. Kitchin.
