ROTARY FLOURISHING
ASSEMBLY AT TIMARU DISTRICT GOVERNOR INSTALLED “ Rotary is in a very flourishing condition in this district,” said the retiring district governor, Mr Charles Greenslade, of Dunedin, at the. installation of Mr B. L. Blodorn as district governor at the opening of the district governors’ assembly of the fifty-third Rotary International in Timaru. Mote than 100 delegates, representing 28 clubs within the district, attended the assembly, which was concluded yesterday. Mr Greenslade said that tfce system of appointing past district governors as the district committee had been found to work successfully. Referring to the rapid growth of the Rotary movement, Mr'Greenslade said that it was reaching saturation point, and that it would be well for districts contemplating new clubs to consult with the district governor,- so that a survey could be made first. '
As the retiring district governor, Mr Greenslade then installed Mr Blodorn as the new district governor. After paying a tribute to the valuable work of the retiring district governor, Mr Blodorn said it would be the aim of all Rotarians to keep the movement simple. x
Discussions took place on the organisation' and administration of Rotary, on club, vocational, community and international service.
