LAST ARMY PAPER

JAYFORCE TIMES FINAL SOUVENIR ISSUE The last of the impressive series of newspapers and periodicals, both official and unofficial, produced by the New Zealand forces during the war and the subsequent years, has now gone to press for the final issue. It was the Jayforce Times, which has been supplying a news service complementary to the cable items appearing in the daily Bcon for the benefit of the New Zealand occupation forces in Japan, The withdrawal of this force has, of course, nullified the purpose for which the Jayforce Times was designed. Well printed and attractively laid out, Jayforce Times has given a good cross-section of feature material, either staff written or culled from the main newspapers throughout the country. The 16-page final issue, actually dated August 28, has been- printed on art paper with a cover in colour and a lavish assortment of retrospective photographs. It should make an attractive souvenir of the occupation for the troops who will receive the issue.
