FINAL TRIALS

BOOLAMSKEE SCHOOLS WELL GOOD MILE BY AGANEV P.A. ' CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 12. A large number of horses had their final trials at Riccarton this morning. Conditions were excellent and the course provided fast going. The best times were credited to Aganev (mile), Banshee (seven furlongs), Loch Lennox (six furlongs), Resolute, Magical, and Irish Peach (five furlongs) and Peridot (four furlongs). Boolamskee schooled well over four hurdles.

Julius Caesar proved too solid for Indian Dawn and Helio over seven furlongs, Julius Caesar finishing a length in front after speeding up over the last four in 50 2-ssec.

Loch Lennox worked boldly over six furlongs in lmin 16 2-ssec. the opening two in 25 2-ssec.

Metif and Tarmac, after taking Msec for the first furlong, completed five in lmin 4 4-ssec. This time was eclipsed by Resolute, who beat Auchenlee by three lengths, with Profane and Beau Soir beaten off in lmin 3 l-ssec, first in 13 3-ssec. Leigh Barton Amiss Leigh Barton reeled off five furlongs in lmin 3 3-ssec, his first in 12 4-ssec, but he pulled up lame and is unlikely to start in the August Handicap, in which he looked a strong prospect. Bragden and Confidence Trick finished a neck in front of Military Chief on the completion of a similar trial in lmin 18 2-ssec, the first two in 26 4-ssec. They were all galloping easily at the end. Magnaform had a length and a-half to spare from Ronald Macdonald at the end of six furlongs in lmin 17 l-ssec, the first two in 27sec. Tremello was too' good for Corineus over a mile in lmin 46 l-ssec, the first half being run in 53 2-ssec. St. Bruno and Super Flight took 14 2- for their first furlong, and completed five in lmin 4 4-ssec. Foxchase and Pedantic worked over six furlongs, speeding up over the final four in 51 4-ssec, with Foxchase four lengths in front. Royal Dollar, with a good pull in weights, beat Duvaals by half a length, with Da Vinci four lengths back, at the end of six furlongs in lmin 16 4-ssec, the first two in 26 l-ssec. Signal Officer proved that he is well forward to resume racing on the final day by holding off Ballinagh by a neck, with Hormuz a length back, after running a mile in lmin 43 3-ssec, the first half in after taking 26 2-ssec for the first two furlongs, completed six in lmin L 7 2-ssec. Verdant ran seven furlongs in lmin 32 3- the first three in 40 3-ssec. Lord Elgin and Broie did their four furlongs in 51 4-ssec. The Grate and Scuttle were on terms at the finish of six furlongs in lmin 19 l-ssec, the first two in 27 l-ssec. Baccarat ran four furlongs in 51 l-ssec. Schooling Gallops

First Out, Tenorman and Real Night were the only horses schooled over the steeplechase fences on the course proper. They set out over the sod wall at the nine luriongs and then jumped the post and rails and kennels double. Tenorman and Real Night jumped Cutts’s. Real Night did not look happy. First Out is showing signs of soreness and may not start. Brookby Song jumped two hurdles in the straight and cleared them easily. Boolamskee and Young Bob went over tour hurdles, with Boolamskee making the better showing. Young Bob hit the first, and his leap at the second was not clean, but he cleared the other two well

Lisheen and Knight Crusader jumped six hurdles satisfactorily. Town Survey accompanying them over the first four. Glad Fox made a better showing than Moutoa Lord over four hurdles. Glad Fox drawing away over the final stages. Cooraclare and Roman Duke set out ever the hurdles, but Roman Duke blundered and lost his rider at the third. Cooraclare continued on to jump six hurdles, but he tired badly over the last two.
