N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent Rec. 8.30 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 11. ■ The kidnapping of Austrian civilians by Russians is now almost a daily occurrence, reports the Vienna correspondent of the Daily Herald. He witnessed one himself. “In Scliwarzenberg Platz, in the heart of Vienna and on the fringe of the international and Soviet zones, a blue Mercedes car bearing a Russian number drew up. A Russian officer sprang out and seized a civilian who was walking quietly past. Two more Russian officers appeared and grabbed the man, who struggled and screamed. The Austrian police—who, of course, were forbidden to interfere—merely took the car’s number.
