WAR VETERANS’ HOME
LARGE GRANT REQUESTED
P.A. AUCKLAND. Aug. 11. An application for the sum of £IOO,OOO for the erection of additional buildings on the site of the Auckland War Veterans’ Home and also for ,a trust of a further £IOO,OOO for investment for purposes of upkeep was made to-day to a full meeting of the Now Zealand Patriotic Fund Board. The application was made by a deputation consisting of Mr A. P Postlewaite (for the Auckland R.S.A.) and Mr D. H. Herron (for the Auckland War Veterans’ Home Board). The proposal was referred to the War Veterans’ Home Inquiry Committee for favourable consideration.
