CENTENNIAL YEAR * CINE CLUB’S ENERGY Due to the foresight and keenness of members of the Otago Cine-photo-graphic Club, there will be a first-class film record of the events of Otago’s centennial year. Happenings from the beginning of the year up to the fireworks display have been recorded in colour, and include the re-enactment of the landing at Port Chalmers, regattas and sailing races, the Cavalcade of Progress, girls’ marching the air pageant, the surf competitions at St Clair, while black and white films of Ranfurly Shield matches and of the *• wild Violets ” production have yet to be completed. A special committee was set up by the club before the celebrations commenced, official cameramen were appointed’from club members, and a definite programme arranged. The master film has been edited, and only awaits titling. It will be sent to Australia, where several copies will be made. When the final copies have been received public screenings will be given.
